Cepheid Variable Episode VI: Return of the Vice-Chair
In the sixth week of the semester, when all hope of complete minutes seemed lost, the vice chair returned to her position at the occifer table; descending upon its meeting place in a great storm of paperwork and record-keeping fury, the likes of which had not been seen for many moons (in short – I now have Tuesday’s off , yay!)
Announcements from the Occifers
Trey (Student Development) - Fish who signed up for the mentor/buddy program – your surveys will be coming out this week (and they will search the very depths of your souls), look for them and get them back to Trey so that he may match you with appropriate (relatively) old people. SoS is also up and running, with plenty of available tutors so please contact Trey if you are needing help in any of your classes.(we want you to still be here next semester)
- YPH has been hard at work (overcompensating but awesome) and their first event of the year, which resulted in an honor guard being established for the occifer body and a venturing party being sent out to reclaim our war banner from its captive residence, went over as a big success. So big, in fact, that they’re doing it again this weekend – so show up at Coleman’s house at noon (or sometime close to that) on Saturday if you wish to construct safe LARP weaponry and then beat your buddies with it!
- Pillow Fight needs a nap, that is all.
Johnathan (Public Relations) - There are currently no major PR events coming up.
David (Fundraising Director) – There will be a poll posted on Facebook to determine the preferred night for a Fudruckers profit share; further details forthcoming. There will be a concessions event this Friday evening at 7pm so please remember to show up if you signed up (this counts as one of our two non-football commitments for the season). Also the next home game (October 15th) has a report time of 8am which means – sleepover at the Chair’s house! Also the Vice Chair (Bacon Fairy) will be making you all bacon (and other tasty foods) for breakfast.
Cameron (KAHN!!! Director) - Details of the guest contracts have been mostly ironed out and the budget finalizing is still in progress but should be resolved within a couple of weeks. A couple of officers are still looking for minions (PR & ConSuite) so contact Cameron or the respective officers if interested in filling one of those positions. Concessions/Fundraisers have been doing an amazing job and we are halfway to paying for AggieCon 43 already (WHOOP!).
Orc (Finance Director) - Orc, most tragically, cannot attend Cepheid meetings this semester due to work and class schedules. Finance responsibilities to be addressed during the meetings (such as collecting dues and money for shirts) will for the time being be the job of the Vice-Chair. (Just pretend I’m slightly more unreasonably tall and a ginger)
Nathan (Programming Director) - Trick or Treat for UNICEF will be happening on Halloween night (Monday, October 31st) with a Halloween Party to follow the trick-or-treating. Meet in front of the Commons at 6pm to get rides of campus for the Trick-or-Treat; location of the after-party TBA but there will be games and Dr. Strangelove; contact Nathan if there are any specific games you would like to have available to play. Ideas presented thus far include: pin-the-rainbow on the Nyan Cat and…well, nothing else really, but I felt that was worth putting in the minutes.
Announcements from Small Programs
